Article 1 – General provisions
1.1 Purpose
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (hereinafter "T&Cs") govern the rights and obligations of the parties in the context of the online sale of products offered by A Minimalist Home Ltd, an Irish company registered under number 663697, with its registered office at Ground Floor, 71 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin D02 P593, Ireland, trading under the name Rior Design (hereinafter "the Company"), on the websites riordesign.eu and riordesign.co (hereinafter "the Site").
1.2 Acceptance
Placing an order on the Site implies full and unconditional acceptance of these T&Cs. The applicable T&Cs are those in force at the date of payment. The Company reserves the right to amend them at any time; updated T&Cs apply only to orders placed after their publication.
1.3 Who these T&Cs apply to
These T&Cs apply to purchases made by adult individuals acting as consumers for purposes outside their professional activity. Businesses wishing to place an order should contact us directly at info@riordesign.com.
1.4 Applicable law and local consumer protection
These T&Cs are governed by Irish law. However, regardless of this choice of law, consumers always retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable in their country of residence that cannot be derogated from by agreement. This means that if the law of your country of residence provides you with greater protection than Irish law in any particular respect, those local mandatory protections will apply to you.
In particular, and without limitation:
- United Kingdom: consumers benefit from the mandatory provisions of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and other applicable UK consumer law;
- Australia: consumers benefit from the mandatory provisions of the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), including statutory guarantees that cannot be excluded;
- Singapore: consumers benefit from the mandatory provisions of the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act and applicable Singapore consumer legislation;
- United States: consumers benefit from applicable federal and state consumer protection laws, including state-specific rights where applicable.
Article 2 – Formation of the contract
2.1 Order process
The contract is formed as follows:
- Step 1: The Customer selects products, adds them to the cart, and reviews the order summary showing selected products, prices in local currency, delivery options and costs, and these T&Cs.
- Step 2: By clicking the final confirmation button ("Pay now", "Place order" or similar), the Customer accepts these T&Cs and commits to payment. The contract is thereby concluded.
2.2 Order confirmation
Following validation and payment, the Customer receives a confirmation email containing the order summary, order number, these T&Cs, and withdrawal/return information. An electronic invoice is also provided. Customers are encouraged to retain these documents as proof of the contract.
2.3 Order refusal
The Company reserves the right to refuse any order on legitimate grounds including suspected fraud, non-compliance with these T&Cs, an ongoing dispute relating to a previous order, or quantities inconsistent with normal consumer use.
Article 3 – Products
3.1 Product descriptions
Essential characteristics of products, prices, and availability are presented on the product pages of the Site. Photographs and visuals are for illustrative purposes only and have no contractual value; slight variations in colour or appearance may occur depending on screen settings. Prices are displayed in your local currency and are inclusive of all applicable taxes.
3.2 Availability
Offers are valid while stocks last. Adding a product to the cart does not guarantee availability. If a product becomes unavailable after an order has been validated, the Company will notify the Customer by email, cancel the order for that product, and refund any amounts paid for it in full. Other available products in the same order will be dispatched normally.
Article 4 – Prices, taxes and duties
All prices displayed on the Site are shown in your local currency, inclusive of all applicable taxes. Delivery costs, where applicable, are shown separately during checkout and appear in the order summary before final confirmation.
Important — No hidden costs: All products sold on riordesign.eu and riordesign.co are shipped from our international fulfilment centre. All import duties, customs fees, and taxes are covered by Rior Design. You will not be charged any additional amounts beyond the price shown at checkout. The price you see is the final price you pay.
The Company reserves the right to modify prices at any time. Products are invoiced at the price in force at the time the order is validated.
Article 5 – Payment
5.1 Payment methods
Full payment is due at the time of order validation. Accepted payment methods may include:
- Credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro) via secure SSL platform;
- PayPal;
- Klarna (where available in your country — see section 5.2 below);
- Gift vouchers and promotional codes issued by the Company.
When paying by card, the Customer warrants they are the cardholder and are authorised to use the card. Card details are transmitted via a secure encryption protocol and are not stored by the Company.
5.2 Payment via Klarna
In cooperation with Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden, we offer Klarna payment options where available in your country. Payment is made directly to Klarna. Options may include:
- Pay in instalments: Flexible monthly payments — see Klarna's website for full terms and conditions applicable in your country.
- Pay later / Pay by invoice: Receive your order first with a deferred payment period. Full terms available on Klarna's website.
To offer Klarna payment options, we share your personal data (contact details and order information) with Klarna so they can assess your eligibility. Klarna may carry out identity and credit checks using credit reference agencies where permitted by local law. This processing is based on your consent and/or our legitimate interest in protecting against payment default. You may withdraw your consent directly with Klarna at any time. Your data is handled by Klarna in accordance with their privacy policy: https://www.klarna.com/privacy/
5.3 Payment security
The Company may implement order verification procedures to prevent fraud. The Customer may be asked to provide identity documents. The order will only be processed once verification is complete.
5.4 Promotional codes and offers
Promotional codes and offers are subject to the following conditions:
- Promotional codes apply only to full-price items and cannot be used on already discounted products;
- Promotional codes cannot be combined with other codes or offers, unless otherwise explicitly stated;
- For promotions linked to a minimum order value or quantity, the threshold must be reached within a single order — separate orders cannot be combined.
In the event of a partial return on a promotional order:
- If the return brings the order value below the promotion threshold, the discount will be recalculated and deducted from the refund;
- A free product added to an order above a certain threshold must be returned if a partial or full return brings the order value below that threshold, or its regular selling price will be deducted from the refund;
- If free delivery was granted based on a minimum order value and that threshold is no longer met following a partial return, delivery costs will be deducted from the refund.
Article 6 – Delivery
6.1 Shipping and timeframes
The Company delivers to the countries listed on the Site. All products are shipped from our international fulfilment centre. Estimated delivery timeframes are communicated before the order is validated and vary by destination.
The Company makes every effort to meet estimated timeframes. In the event of a significant delay, the Company will notify the Customer and seek an appropriate solution. If delivery cannot be completed within a reasonable additional period, the Customer may cancel the order and receive a full refund.
6.2 Delivery costs
Applicable delivery costs are shown separately during checkout and appear in the order summary before final confirmation. Free delivery may be offered above a certain order value as indicated on the Site.
6.3 Transfer of risk
Risk of accidental loss or damage to products passes to the Customer at the moment the Customer, or a third party designated by the Customer other than the carrier, takes physical possession of the products.
6.4 Receipt and inspection
Upon receipt, the Customer is invited to inspect the products. In the event of apparent damage or missing items, the Customer should contact customer service at info@riordesign.com as soon as possible with supporting photographs. The absence of immediate notification does not affect the Customer's rights under applicable statutory guarantees.
Article 7 – Returns and right of withdrawal
7.1 Return period
The Customer has the right to return products within 30 days of the date of receipt, without giving any reason and without incurring any penalty. This 30-day period is more generous than the minimum required under applicable consumer law in most jurisdictions.
Where local mandatory law provides for a longer return period, that longer period applies.
7.2 Exclusions
The right of return does not apply to:
- Goods made to the Customer's specifications or clearly personalised;
- Goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
- Sealed goods unsealed after delivery that cannot be returned for hygiene or health protection reasons;
- Goods inseparably mixed with other items after delivery.
7.3 How to initiate a return
To initiate a return, the Customer must notify the Company within the 30-day period by:
- Email: info@riordesign.com
- Post: Rior Design – Customer Service, A Minimalist Home Ltd, Ground Floor, 71 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin D02 P593, Ireland
⚠️ Important — return address: Do not send returns to the registered office address above. The correct return address will be provided by our customer service team after your return request is received. Please do not send any parcel before receiving this confirmation.
The date of dispatch of the return notification is taken as the reference date for the 30-day period.
7.4 Condition of returned products
Returned products must not have been used beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and proper functioning — comparable to what would reasonably be done in a shop before purchase. In particular, the following will be considered as depreciation and may be deducted from the refund:
- Wearing or using the item beyond a brief try-on;
- Damage, scratches or discolouration caused by improper handling;
- Removal of protective films, labels or original packaging that prevents resale;
- Exposure to chemicals, cosmetics, water or other substances;
- Damage caused by improper packaging on return (e.g. returning jewellery in an envelope rather than a suitable padded box).
7.5 Refund
The Company will process the refund within 14 days of receiving the returned products or proof of return postage, whichever is earlier. The refund will be made using the same payment method as the original order unless the Customer expressly agrees otherwise. Return delivery costs are at the Customer's expense unless otherwise stated.
7.6 Promotional orders — partial returns
Please refer to Article 5.4 for the rules applicable to partial returns on promotional orders.
Article 8 – Guarantees and warranties
8.1 Statutory guarantees
The Company is liable for any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery. The applicable statutory guarantee period and remedies vary by jurisdiction:
- United Kingdom: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a 30-day right to reject faulty goods, and up to 6 years to bring a claim for breach of contract (5 years in Scotland). During the first 6 months, the burden of proof is reversed in your favour;
- Australia: under the Australian Consumer Law, our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure;
- Singapore: you benefit from applicable statutory protections under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act and the Sale of Goods Act;
- United States: you benefit from applicable implied warranties under state law, including the implied warranty of merchantability.
Nothing in these T&Cs excludes or limits your rights under applicable mandatory consumer law.
8.2 Voluntary commercial warranty — 365 days
In addition to, and without replacing, any statutory guarantees above, Rior Design offers a voluntary commercial warranty of 365 days from the date of purchase on all products sold on the Site. Under this warranty, Rior Design will repair or replace any product presenting a manufacturing defect.
This voluntary warranty does not cover:
- Deformation resulting from incorrect use (e.g. bending of a ring);
- Damage caused by improper use including exposure to chemicals, water, cosmetics, or excessive force;
- Normal wear and natural ageing of materials;
- Lack of maintenance or dirt;
- Natural variations in materials of natural origin (pearls, mother-of-pearl, etc.) which are inherent characteristics, not defects.
The voluntary warranty is valid once per item. Products received as gifts (including free promotional products) are excluded from this voluntary warranty. To make a warranty claim, contact info@riordesign.com.
8.3 Australian Consumer Law notice
For customers in Australia: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The benefits of our voluntary 365-day warranty are in addition to the rights and remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Article 9 – Intellectual property
All content on the Site (trademarks, domain names, images, photographs, videos, texts, designs, product descriptions and any other content) is the exclusive property of the Company or its partners and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. Any unauthorised reproduction or use is strictly prohibited. The sale of products does not transfer any intellectual property rights to the Customer.
Article 10 – Force majeure
The Company shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, armed conflicts, governmental decisions, or network failures. The Company will notify the Customer as soon as possible and seek an alternative solution.
Article 11 – Liability
The Company shall not be liable for damage resulting exclusively from misuse of the product, unauthorised modification, or the Customer's own negligence. Nothing in these T&Cs excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable mandatory law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any statutory consumer rights.
Article 12 – SMS marketing
The Customer only receives SMS marketing communications if they have given explicit consent via an unchecked opt-in checkbox at checkout or via a dedicated sign-up form. By consenting, the Customer agrees to receive recurring text notifications including order confirmations, abandoned cart reminders, promotional offers, and review requests.
Consent may be withdrawn at any time by replying STOP to any message or via the unsubscribe link provided. Message frequency varies. The Company does not charge for this service; mobile operator charges may apply. For questions: info@riordesign.com.
For US customers: By opting in, you agree to receive autodialled or pre-recorded marketing text messages. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.
Article 13 – Account suspension
The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate a Customer's account in the event of a breach of these T&Cs or applicable legal provisions. Any person whose account has been suspended may not create a new account without prior authorisation.
Article 14 – Dispute resolution
14.1 Customer service — first point of contact
In the event of a dispute or complaint, the Customer should contact customer service in the first instance at info@riordesign.com, available Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm GMT. The Company will endeavour to resolve any complaint promptly and amicably.
14.2 United Kingdom — alternative dispute resolution
UK consumers may refer unresolved disputes to an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme. Details of approved ADR schemes are available from the Chartered Trading Standards Institute at www.ctsi.org.uk.
14.3 Australia — dispute resolution
Australian consumers may contact the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) at www.accc.gov.au or their relevant state or territory consumer protection agency.
14.4 United States — dispute resolution
US consumers may contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at www.ftc.gov or their relevant state consumer protection office.
14.5 Waiver of class action (United States)
To the extent permitted by applicable law, customers residing in the United States agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these T&Cs or the purchase of products from Rior Design shall be resolved on an individual basis only, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. Nothing in this clause affects any rights you may have under applicable mandatory consumer protection law that cannot be waived by agreement.
14.6 Jurisdiction
In the absence of an amicable resolution, disputes will be subject to the competent courts in accordance with applicable law. Consumers always retain the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their place of domicile.
Article 15 – General
If any provision of these T&Cs is declared null or unenforceable, it shall be deemed unwritten without affecting the remaining provisions. The Company's tolerance of any breach shall not constitute a waiver of its right to rely on these T&Cs in the future.
