Refund policy

Our commitment

Customer satisfaction is our priority. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer a straightforward returns process subject to the conditions below.


1. Return period

You may return any product within 30 days of the date of receipt, without giving any reason. This 30-day period is more generous than the minimum required under applicable consumer law in most jurisdictions we serve.

Where your local mandatory consumer law provides for a longer return or cancellation period, that longer period applies to you.

Specifically:

  • United Kingdom: you have a statutory 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Our 30-day policy is more generous.
  • Australia: your return rights under the Australian Consumer Law depend on the nature of the issue (major or minor failure). Our 30-day policy applies for change-of-mind returns in addition to your statutory rights.
  • United States / Singapore: our 30-day policy applies. Your statutory rights under applicable local law are always preserved.

2. How to initiate a return

To initiate a return, contact our customer service team before sending anything back:

⚠️ Important — return address: Do not send returns to our registered office in Dublin. The correct return address will be provided by our customer service team after your return request is received. Parcels sent to the Dublin address without prior authorisation cannot be accepted and any additional costs incurred will be at the Customer's expense.


3. Return conditions

To be eligible for a full refund, returned products must:

  • Be returned within 30 days of your return notification;
  • Not have been used beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and proper functioning — comparable to what you would do when trying an item in a shop;
  • Be returned in their original packaging with all accessories and any included documentation.

The following will be considered as depreciation and may be deducted from your refund:

  • Wearing or using the item beyond a brief try-on or inspection;
  • Damage, scratches, or discolouration caused by improper handling after receipt;
  • Removal of protective films, labels or original packaging that prevents resale;
  • Exposure to chemicals, cosmetics, water, perfume or other substances;
  • Improper return packaging — jewellery must be returned in suitable padded packaging (not a standard envelope). Damage caused by inadequate packaging during return transit is the Customer's responsibility.

In the event of significant depreciation that completely prevents resale, we reserve the right to withhold the refund and return the product to you at your cost, having notified you in advance.


4. Exclusions — items that cannot be returned

The following products cannot be returned:

  • Products made to your specifications or clearly personalised (e.g. engraved jewellery);
  • Sealed goods that have been unsealed after delivery and cannot be returned for hygiene or health protection reasons;
  • Products that have been inseparably mixed with other items after delivery.

5. Return shipping costs

Return shipping costs are at the Customer's expense. We recommend using a tracked shipping service as we cannot be held responsible for returns lost in transit.


6. Refunds

Once we receive your return and verify its condition, we will process your refund within 14 days. The refund will be issued to the original payment method used for the order, unless you expressly agree to an alternative.

The refund will include the original product price and standard outbound delivery costs (if any were charged), but not the return shipping costs.

We reserve the right to withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or proof of return postage, whichever is earlier.


7. Promotional orders — partial returns

If you return part of an order that was purchased with a promotional discount, the following rules apply:

  • If the partial return brings the order value below the promotion threshold, the discount will be recalculated and deducted from your refund;
  • A free product added to your order above a certain threshold must be returned if your partial return brings the order below that threshold, or its regular selling price will be deducted from your refund;
  • If free delivery was granted based on a minimum order value and that threshold is no longer met following your partial return, delivery costs will be deducted from your refund;
  • Promotional codes cannot be combined and apply only to full-price items.

8. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If you receive a faulty, damaged or incorrect item, please contact us at info@riordesign.com within a reasonable time of receipt with a description of the issue and supporting photographs. We will arrange a replacement, repair, or refund at no cost to you, including return shipping costs where applicable.

Your statutory rights regarding faulty goods are not limited by this policy. In particular:

  • UK customers: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have a 30-day right to a full refund for faulty goods, and up to 6 years to bring a claim;
  • Australian customers: under the Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and repair or replacement for a minor failure;
  • All customers: your statutory rights always apply regardless of the returns window above.

9. Voluntary 365-day warranty

In addition to your statutory rights, Rior Design offers a voluntary 365-day warranty on all products covering manufacturing defects. This warranty is in addition to — not instead of — your statutory rights.

The voluntary warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and natural ageing of materials;
  • Damage caused by improper use (exposure to water, chemicals, cosmetics or excessive force);
  • Deformation through incorrect handling;
  • Natural variations in materials of natural origin (pearls, mother-of-pearl, etc.);
  • Free promotional gifts.

The warranty is valid once per item. To make a warranty claim, contact info@riordesign.com.


10. Delivery refusal

If you refuse delivery of a parcel without having first notified us of a return or cancellation, and without a documented legitimate reason (such as visibly damaged packaging evidenced by photographs or a carrier note), this will be treated as a return under this policy. Return shipping costs incurred as a result of refusal will be deducted from your refund. This provision does not apply where refusal was justified by a fault on our part.
